Why Choose Wissenz Law
Fighting For Hamilton's Best Interests for Over 35 Years
Born and raised in Stoney Creek, Rebecca Wissenz is an award-winning Hamilton lawyer of 35 years. However, she dedicated her life towards helping her community long before she became one of Hamilton, Ontario’s most esteemed Personal Injury lawyers.
Throughout her life and career, she’s been a forceful advocate and promoter of a wide variety of organizations and causes near and dear to her heart. She has served on philanthropic committees, such as the Women in Law’s Build in partnership with Habitat For Humanity and the Ontario Trillium Foundation, as well as at the helm of other charitable and community-building boards, such as the Scleroderma Society of Ontario and the Hamilton Club.
As past President of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, she advocated for the local economy, small businesses and their owners at the provincial level, in addition to her work as “the voice of business” on the Green Belt Advisory Council. Her love for the City of Hamilton came to a pinnacle when she saw the Hamilton Tiger Cats compete for the 2019 Grey Cup as the President of the Tiger Town Council.
Whether it’s by giving compassion and dignity to her neighbours in need through charitable endeavours, or fiercely representing her clients in litigation as well as her community on the court, arena and sports fields, Rebecca has been fighting for the best interests of Hamilton and its residents throughout her entire life.

Rebecca was born and raised in Stoney Creek by her parents, Richard and Shirley, who still enjoy their home there, along with her three brothers and younger sister. In school, she earned the Athlete of the Year award several times, as both her parents had decades before, in addition to the Academic Athlete Award in her final year at Saltfleet, upon graduation.
After graduating from Queen’s University and receiving her L.L.B. from Windsor University’s Law School, Rebecca lived and raised three young children in Dundas for 20 years. Although, her law practice has always been centrally based in Downtown Hamilton, where she now operates Wissenz Law from within a spectacular century home located at 183 James Street South.
For the last 15 years, Rebecca has called Ancaster her home. In the Meadowlands, she lives with her beloved husband, veteran broadcaster Bill Kelly of 900 CHML, where they share their love for creative cooking as well as their passion for music, theatre and the arts.
